Standard Configuration Guide

Listed below are configurations for our current standards. Solar Innovations™ reserves the right at any time to change these standards, including adding and subtracting models and sizes.

All Solar Innovations™ structures are designed to withstand a minimum live load (e.g. snow load) of 30 pounds per square foot (PSF) when subjected to a 10 PSF wind load and a 5 PSF dead load, unless otherwise noted. Virtually any load combination can be custom engineered.

Standard Unit Exclusions:

  • Some models are designed for a 30” masonry base wall with two pressure treated 2 x’s structurally anchored to the masonry surface, resulting in a base wall with an overall height of 33”. (The base wall is provided by a third party.)
  • The structural curb and curb sub-flashings are not included in the standard skylight prices.
  • Base wall, foundation, flooring, electrical, plumbing, site preparation, and all items not specifically listed are also excluded.
  • Sales tax and any other applicable taxes are excluded unless otherwise noted.

Custom Options (Additions)

  • Kynar Finish – 50% flouropolymer finish in one of Solar Innovations™ standard colors.
  • Dark Bronze or Clear Anodized finish.
  • 7” wood interior system. These systems are available in a solid wood or glue laminates. Standard wood options include solid mahogany and Southern Yellow Pine glue laminates. Upon special request, laminates of Western Red Cedar, Spanish Cedar (straight eave applications only), and Douglas Fir are available.
  • Installation may be available through our nationwide dealer network or directly from our factory. Please call for pricing.
  • Original stamped engineered drawings will require an additional charge (Cost based on final design – contact your Solar Innovations™ representative for pricing.) Purchaser must consult local code officials regarding structural requirements concerning code and drifting snow conditions.

Custom Options (Deductions)

  • Monolithic 3/16” tempered glass. (Please note: dimensions will vary slightly when converting from the insulated system to the monolithic system, approximately 3/4″ projection and 3/4″ per gable end selected.)
  • Frame only – glass to be provided by third party. (Note: Solar Innovations™ will always provide the standard curved glass.)

Important Notes:

  • No foundation work should begin until complete drawings are received from Solar Innovations™ .
  • Not all high performance glass options are available in tinted configurations. Call a Solar Innovations™ sales representative for glass availability.
  • Interior muntins and SDLs can only be applied to flat glass units (not available in curved units or sloped applications).
