PINEGROVE–January16, 2008–Today executives and employees of Solar Innovations Inc. marked the beginning of construction on a $9.7 million manufacturing plant in the Pine Grove Business Park with a ground breaking ceremony attended by state, county, and local officials. The project will add 48 new jobs to the company’s current 91‐person work force.

Solar Innovations is a national leader in the manufacture, retro fit and installation of sloped over head glazing products. Its product line includes conservatories, horticultural greenhouses, sunrooms, pool and spa enclosures, canopies, curtain walls, folding glass walls, and a variety of terrace doors, garden windows, and skylight types such as domes, pyramids, and barrel vaults.

According to a company spokes person, the firm plan store locate its entire operation from Myerstown, Lebanon County to the 14‐acre site in the Pine Grove Business Park, virtually doubling available production space to accommodate future business growth.

“With our new facility, Solar Innovations looks forward to becoming an active member of this growing community, setting an example of how Pennsylvania businesses should contribute and give back to the communities in which we live and work.”

According to Schuylkill Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO) vice president Gerry Heffner, $1.68 million of the total financing package was made available by a SEDCO‐administered, Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority (PIDA) loan.

“PIDA provides low‐interest loans to local non‐profit industrial development corporations (IDCs) like SEDCO, for use by eligible businesses that commit to creating or retaining full time jobs. We are pleased to have use of this tool to assist a successful business grow and provide more jobs for local workers,” Heffner said.

All existing employees of Solar Innovations will continue at the new location. Several will experience markedly shorter commuting time as they already reside in Schuylkill County.

Solar Innovations, Inc. is a Pennsylvania corporation established in 1998 with Gregory Header as owner. Within nine years he, together with a dedicated cadre of employees, developed one of the most comprehensive lines of solar structures, operable and retractable panels, doors and windows in the world.
